The people you will/can work with to build a House in Nigeria

Building a house yourself in Nigeria is a lot of work if you don’t give builders, as you will have to deal with a lot of people from start to finish but if you don’t mind and you have time for little disappointments and complaints.

Here are  people you will deal with, while building a house, from one stage to another—

Till completion.

 

                1.SURVEYORS

It always starts from here especially if you buy the land from them and not ọmọ onile. They help ensure you get the right size of land and get your survey plan done. You will need the Survey plan for building plans. They can worry you small but no loose guard. Pray you meet good ones.

2.ARCHITECTS/DRAFTSMAN

– They give you the pictorial design of the proposed building plan, so you can have a picture of what it will look like in the end. Their service charge could be high, especially Architects with 3D designs but they will give you a good job.

3. BRICKLAYERS (BLOCK MOLDERS):

They are the odogwus. The look of your house is in their hands. They help construct walls, lay blocks, and build structures. If you don’t consult very good ones, you may hate your house after spending so much. Many need Construction Engineers to guide them well before the wall starts cracking after roofing.

4. CARPENTERS:

As Bricklayers are working, you need a good Carpenter too. They help build hollow chambers called reinforcement to wood or steel lintels, to ensure proper structure. If a carpenter gets it wrong in things like beam casting, you can have a house with scattered legs and amusing shapes, that you’ll live to hate. So get good ones. Capetenter can also help Install doors, roof the house, and other wooden fixtures.

5. ELECTRICIANS:

We all hate fire outbreaks especially inside houses. A little wire spark due to wrong wirings can wreck all your investments, so don’t just give your house electrical works to anyhow person. Not the one joining wires with plenty of wire tapes and says it doesn’t mean anything sir. Safety first. These guys jobs is to Install electrical systems, wiring, and lighting.

6. PLUMBERS:

What’s a fine house without water supply and where to pass faeces?  This is where you need services of good plumbers especially the one that you can easily call if something is wrong. Plumbers that can easily show up are the best and can help you to Install water supply systems, pipes, and sanitary fixtures.

7. WELDERS:

These guys work hand in hand with bricklayers and Carpenters while moulding blocks so they provide essential iron welding services. They can also help you fabricate metal structures like water tanks, gates, and other metalworks. You need to create time  to chase some about, before they do their jobs. But you can be lucky with few that don’t delay.

8. POP & TILERS:

When the house is roofed and interior works come, tilers & Pop services are always needed to Install install floor and wall tiles, and POP ceilings to make your house look nice. You may need a good POP installer to avoid ceiling dropping on your head while enjoying your sleep 

9. PAINTERS:

The beauty of most houses will not come out until you coat them with good paintings. Infact it brings out the worth of the investment. A house you paint sells faster than the one you don’t, as the latter dey always enter eyes. Just get a good painter that knows best paint, not the one that will manage one bucket for one house and add plenty water. E go be like car body feelers shop.
